Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld, Safety and Environmental Services Director Terri Moses and Hamilton principal Chad Cushenbery shared updates on recent facility investments that strengthen the security of our schools. Hamilton is one of five schools that received a new secured entrance this summer, marking the completion of districtwide upgrades to ensure every WPS school has a protected and welcoming entryway.

The state of Kansas is changing the state assessment cut scores because the scores didn’t tell the whole story about what students know and are able to do, and many who were labeled “not proficient” were excelling.

At its September 2025 meeting, the Wichita Public Schools Board of Education passed its 25-26 budget with more than 87% directly supporting students.

The program offers Wichita Public Schools graduates a seamless route to earn their teaching licensure.

WPS high school students have attended regional and national conferences and competitions to develop skills learned in CTE pathways.
