Seminar

The purpose of Seminar is to provide time for students to seek individual help from teachers, work on special projects, make up tests/assignments, and receive extra preparation on graduation proficiencies.

Other activities which may be conducted during Seminar are: assemblies, career days, advisement, pre-enrollment, and college recruitment visits.

Credit will be issued in the amount of .25 per semester for a total of 2 elective credits over 4 years. Students will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis with 80% attendance/participation required for credit.

All students must:

  • remain in the Seminar room for the first 30 minutes of the Seminar period for student advocacy.
  • obtain a signed seminar pass before 8:00 a.m. (1 day in advance in best) if they wish to meet with a teacher, work in a lab, or go to the library.
  • sign the Classroom Pass Log indicated the destination before leaving the Seminar room.
  • personally turn in the Seminar Pass(es) at the end of each Seminar period.

A teacher may revoke Seminar privileges for students who fail to follow seminar procedures.
