Computer Applications 1

|
Computer Applications 1 is an introduction to Microsoft
Office software. Students will be introduced to basic features in Word,
Excel, Access and Powerpoint. Students will create flyers, tables, and
a powerpoint presentation to present to the class. Students must have
passed Computer Keyboarding first.

Computer Applications 2

|
Computer Applications 2 uses advanced features such as online forms,
auditing, pivot charts and tables, creating database reports, forms, combo
boxes and hyperlinks. Students must have passed Computer Applications 1
first.

Computer Keyboarding

|
Computer Keyboarding is an introductory course to typing and computers.
A main focus in keyboarding is proper technique. Half the semester
is spent learning the keys on the keyboard. The second half is spent
formatting documents such as memo, letters, and reports. Must have this
class
to
take the majority of the other computer courses offered.

Computer Presentations

Computer Presentations is a class where students create and deliver various
types of presentations while gaining confidence and techniques for speaking
to an audience. Students must have passed Computer Applications 1 first.

Computers & Tech 1

Computers and Technology 1 is a class that gives first hand exposure
to the world of computer technology by learning to use digital cameras,
scanners, and the latest software, plus understand computer ethics. Photoshop
is used to delete red-eye out of pictures, make old photos look brand
new, and merge parts of one photograph with parts from another. Macromedia
Flash is used to create animations. Students will learn how to move objects
across the screen, change their size and appearance, add their own buttons
for even more user control, and top it off by adding text.

Computers &
Tech 2

|
Computers and Technology 2 is a continuation of Computer and Technology
1. Besides the Macromedia Flash skills the students learned in Computer
and Technology 1, students will learn how to import and edit sound, create
animated graphics and buttons, and create more advanced action scripts
for their animations. Students will also learn how to capture and edit
video using Adobe Premiere to create commercials. Students will add titles,
sound, and motion in creating their commercials. Students must have passed
Computers and Technology 1 first.

Computer Programming

|
Go behind the scenes by learning how to design and write your own
computer programs. Students design the screen the way they want it to
look by adding their own buttons, pictures, and text. Then write the
code, or instructions, for the computer to perform. Students
will learn the basics of what it takes to create real-world business
software and computer gaming software using Visual Basic.Net. Students
must have passed Algebra 1 first. Students are encouraged to have taken
Computer Keyboarding.

Desktop Publishing

|
Students learn in Desktop Publishing to mix colors, place graphics
and design publications using Adobe InDesign.
Possible projects in Desktop Publishing are mouse pads, a restaurant
menu, a magazine, a note pad, and business cards. Students must have
passed Computer Applications 1 first.
