Southeast Business Technology

Business Technology is part of a unique Cooperative Education program for Juniors and Seniors designed to tie school and work together. Students are in the Business Technology class during the morning and report to their individual worksites during their assigned Employment hour(s) in the afternoon. Classroom activities focus on basic skills necessary for employment in an office-related/business environment. Current technological trends in the business are also stressed. Students learn technologies and receive training on equipment/software used in many businesses today. Business Technology is linked with the Business Professionals of America organization.

  • Students must have taken Computer Applications 1.
  • Students must leave campus during their employment hour(s). They will be given a pass card.
  • Students who do not have a job within a reasonable amount of time will be removed from this course.
  • Assignments will be given throughout this class, it will relate to Business related items, office work, proper dress and proper work ethics.

Juniors: 10 hours per week

Seniors: 15 hours per week

You will be evaluated every nine weeks. Your teacher will periodically check in with your employer and do evaluations. If you do not meet evaluation requirements you will not meet the needs of employment class.

The evaluation is a grading scale of how well you do your job. You employer and teacher will discuss this with you.
