Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program

The principal, Ms. Doyle, of Southeast High school announced today that Ryan C. Stein has been named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

“The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC.  “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.  We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
Congratulations to Ryan C. Stein and his family for this academic recognition.  Go Buffs!
Safe and Civil Parent Survey

We need your opinion!
Our school is committed to providing a safe and encouraging place for your child. You can help us continue to make improvements to our school by completing a short online survey.

Students in grades 3–12 and all staff at every school in the district are participating in the TRENDS® Climate and Safety Survey. We want to know what you think, too. All responses are anonymous. The resulting data will allow us to see if the three groups—parents/guardians, students, and staff—agree or disagree about important issues. We will be able to identify what we are doing well and what we need to work on, such as safety in a particular location of the school, students’ understanding of the expectations for behavior, or communication with families.

It’s quick and easy!

Click here for more information and to complete the survey.

Thank you for your continued support of Southeast High School.
